Brighton Carnival
Carnival has come to Brighton and to Madeira Drive, since 2007. The Brighton Carnival starts in West Street, parades through the Old Town, and finishes in Madeira Drive, where samba bands then further entertain the onlookers.
Brighton Carnival has big ambitions. Let me quote: "The vision is to have a weekend of carnival on the seafront in Brighton, that in the future rivals Notting Hill, Trinidad, Rio and other famous carnivals around the world." No false modesty there!
I feel sure Brighton carnival will grow, year on year.
NB: In 2010 because of funding problems the carnival will be confined to Madeira Drive
