The annual Regency Run in May is organised jointly by the MG Car Club (40,000 members) and the MG Owners' Club (c50,000). It sets off from Brooklands Motor Museum, Weybridge and follows a scenic route, ending in Madeira Drive.

The MG Owners' Club, formed in 1973, has an amazing 50,000 members, a glowing testimony to the "affordable British sports car" and the enthusiasm for it. It claims to be "the World's largest single marque car club". The MG Car Club is the more senior organisation, dating right back to 1930.

MG was bought by China's Nanjing Motors in 2005, and in turn became a subsidiary of SAIC (Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation) in 2007.

You will see all sorts of MGs along Madeira Drive - from the 1920s to the present day, from the very classy to the nifty and sporty.
