Brighton & Hove is host to the largest pride festival in the country which takes place for a whole festival week each year in August. On the second Saturday of the festival the well known and popular Pride Parade takes place, that is, LGBT Community Parade The parade assembles in Madeira Drive and moves through the centre of the city on its way to Preston Park, where a large festival event is held.

Each year there is a different theme for the parade's costume extravaganza. Madeira Drive is a good place to see the parade assemble and move off, and to have a good look at the costumes and floats. Plus it's not so crowded as compared with the streets of the city.
